I have a recipe book on salsas. But sometimes just a basic salsa is great! Which reminds me I haven’t eaten salsa in awhile. Yumoooo!!! =D

@dharmagirl28 The chip in the photo for this dish was made fresh as well. I haven’t really talked about that at all. Fresh whole grain corn tortilla quick fried in a small amount of oil and then salted and ready to dip into the fresh pico. Fresh really is Best!

You can add a little of the salt to the tomatoes when draining them. I find that adding the salt drains them faster, and better.
I use it for making tomato sauces, no idea how it would do in a salsa though. And it might be molesting your garden tomatoes, I only have shop bought tomatoes.. Sadly..

@MrTempUzer I am not a vegetarian. I have worked with vegetables, grown vegetables and love to eat vegetables. But I do eat from all of the food groups as well.

@Scorpion11381 Yes, the cutting board slipping around on that beautiful granite counter top was annoying during the video. On my shopping list is one of those plastic sticky mats to put under the cutting mat. That will fix it. I do LOVE your suggestion of letting the onion and jalapeno marinate in the lime juice while the tomatoes drain. I wish you would have told me that sooner so I could have stolen your idea for the video. Thanks for watching and for your comments!

  24. Scorpion11381 says:

AHHH! Put a damp paper towel under that cutting board before you lose a finger, lol. I thought I was the only person on Earth who drains the tomatoes. I also let my diced jalepeno and onion sit in the lime juice while I wait. Pico de gallo can be added to so many foods other than chips so I think it needs a fancy name like Mirepoix or the Holy trinity. Good videos.
